Holiday snacks accompany television watchers
Dec 2018 — Like flesh-eaters some vegetarians enjoy watching the bowl games or special movies with friends. According to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), vegans prefer purchasing cheese alternatives, chips, chocolate, cookies, crackers, granola bars, gummy candy, jerky, popcorn and pretzels.

Why not pizza? Good Housekeeping suggests because there are better vegetarian options at home – with or without cheese, tomato sauce or wheat. Grocery stores offer vegetarian brands like Amy’s or Daiya. Mod Pizza and Litehouse Grill offer build-your-own pizza, but only Mod guarantees vegan cheese and gluten-free crust options. Organic Bread of Heaven delivers locally or by FedEx.

Other resources offer heartier snack options for adventurous cooks, for example, trail mix; blackeyed peas, avocado, grapefruit as caviar; soup with oyster mushrooms. For next day hangovers, they offer cures for the more rambunctious guests who couldn’t drive.
