Taste of Vegan Festival comes alive in August

June 2019 — The fifth annual Taste of Vegan Health and Wellness Festival will be held at Hales Franciscan High School, 4930 S Cottage Grove Ave, Chicago, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 24. The event is sponsored by Soul Vegan and The Black Mall.

Admission is free for the workshops, food demonstrations, music, entertainment and viewing the vendors. Visitors are urged to bring cash, dancing shoes, lawn chairs or a picnic blanket. The festival’s Facebook page will provide more details, according to Soul Vegan’s director of sales Ellahmahd ben Israel. The event is for full- and part-time vegetarians and their non-vegetarian friends. All food sold will be plant-based since vegan meals contain no animal products like eggs, cheese, animal milk or fish broth.
